INFINITE EXPRESSION OF BLACK BOY JOY
YOUNG BLACK MEN ARE ___ is a multimedia campaign built around our new mission statement, an open-ended statement that holds space for infinite expressions of Black boy joy. The campaign brings together young Black men, local photographers, and community to fill in the blank, reclaim media narratives of Blackness, and speak, paint, and share our stories.
At the heart of the storytelling campaign is the invitation to complete the sentence “YOUNG BLACK MEN ARE_____.” Through personal reflections, a community wall of written truths, and live performances, this campaign amplifies voices that are too often unheard. It’s a space for self-definition, vulnerability, creativity, and connection—where stories are not only told, but seen, heard, and honored.
